About Agnès
Agnès is a warm, passionate and dedicated craftswoman, who has been developing her skills for over 15 years.
Inspired by Steiner education she completed a Foundation course in Rudolf Steiner Early Childhood from the Sydney Steiner College (NSW) in 2009. These values have strongly been embedded within her family culture.
With her two children attending Steiner schools in several locations throughout their education, Agnès has participated in many craft groups which culminated four years ago, in her leading the craft group established at Shearwater, the Mullumbimby Steiner school.
In this environment as craft coordinator, she enhanced and expanded her skill set, allowing her to guide others to create beautiful toys and decorations using only the finest natural fibres and material.
Her focus and joy comes from mainly exploring and creating with felt, enjoyed for its soothing and tactile qualities, Agnès finds the wool and felt mediums grounding, warm and healing.
Agnès is also part of the “Artisan collective”, operating from ‘Made in Mullum’, a shop selling the work of local artisans in Mullumbimby, where you can discover some of her seasonal creations and personal works of art.

Crafting and My Brain
Bonjour!
My name is Agnès, and I am the living proof that neuroplasticity is real, and that craft can be used as a powerful healing modality. Years ago, after a second surgery on the right hemisphere of my brain, I developed SMAC (Supplementary Motor Association Cortex) Syndrome, and lost motricity in my left hand. Being left-handed, I was desperate to find a way to recover, and started leaning into craft. Ten years later and after hundreds of hours of hand embroidery practice, I have fully recovered, having created new neural pathways while stitching away.
Recent studies back up my personal experience, revealing several major health benefits of activities like embroidery. These include improvement in general creativity, enhancement of brain function through focus and concentration, relief of anxiety and reduction in stress levels. I’m now on a mission to share this joyful, potent healing practice with as many people as possible.
The Artisan Forest Workshops
My seasonly-themed workshops offer a variety of right- and left-brain skills and activities, which enhance mindfulness and attention span, while fostering creative energy and joy.
Catering to both adults and children, these three-hour sessions support healthy brain development by helping you enter a flow state, and are led in a warm and safe environment.
There is a unique therapeutic aspect to my offerings too, helping children find their unique gifts and talents, and adults heal their inner child by transmuting emotions into art. Perhaps most importantly, these workshops are about welcoming playfulness back into our wild and precious lives.
Flexibility / Joyfulness / Versatility
My mission is for everyone to joyfully create seasonal craft projects.
I use craft to build connection and creativity, welcoming playfulness into our lives.
Utilising different skills which develop mental capacity, my sessions support healthy brain development; nurturing a
curious mind to integrate with an open heart, all of which is offered in a warm and healing home environment.
In addition, my unique teaching of the French language also embodies joyfulness, playfulness and creativity.
